Malaya marks Nadal’s third vinyl release overall, following the two limited pressings of her eponymous 2004 debut album. The first pressing was released in 2022, and featured a reimagined cover artwork by Nadal and Aidon Panlaqui, limited to only 500 numbered copies worldwide. The second pressing featured the record’s original artwork, but was pressed on a limited edition run of black and green split colored vinyl.

Just recently, Nadal announced her forthcoming ‘New Ground’ concert which is scheduled to take place this June 21, 2025 (Saturday) at the Araneta Coliseum, making it one of the rock icon’s biggest shows to date. It follows her 20th anniversary concert, ‘Same Ground,’ which was held last June 2024 at the New Frontier Theater.

In a recent interview with Billboard Philippines, Nadal opened up about the concept of her upcoming concert ‘New Ground,’ and how she continues to innovate as an artist of the modern age. “I’m looking forward to [blending genres] without the fear of babatuhin kami (being pelted with rocks),” said Nadal of what fans can expect from the new show. “I don’t wanna give too much away, but we’ll be guesting artists we’ve never performed with before,” she teased.
