Filipino eight-member boy band KINDRED has just announced their partnership with Tarzeer Pictures to host free screenings of their upcoming documentary film titled HI! WE’RE KINDRED! (ARE WE EVEN A BOYBAND?).
The 44-minute documentary is scheduled to premiere at 4 PM on September 5, 2024, at 2288 Chino Roces Ave. Ext., Makati City, and set to piece together several minutes of archival footage and present-day retellings that result in a film that showcases an intimate glimpse of their journey in the musical scene. From the group’s first video call, the several lockdown periods that resulted in creative endeavors (such as their 2023 debut album SUBSET), and their endless nights in the studio, the film aims to provide its viewers with a story of their bond and art-making process throughout its runtime.
Featuring appearances with artists like Annika Sy, Cola Salva Cruz, Timothy Axibal, Cenon at Mav, Koji Arboleda, and Paul Jatayna, the forthcoming documentary also highlights the collaborative process of the band with their peers in the creative scene, which results in a rich portrayal of how they nurtured their relationships and further refined their sound over time.
HI! WE’RE KINDRED! is scheduled to show for free from September 5 to September 7, with each screening starting every hour on the dot. The schedule for the 5th of September is set to screen hourly from 4 to 7 PM, while September 6 and September 7 will see screenings every hour from 10 AM to 5 PM. Seats may be limited, but are available on a first-come, first-served basis that requires no formal registration.
