Kiara Dario Joins The UK & Ireland Tour Production of ‘Mean Girls: The Musical’
From one pop trio to another, the former DAYDREAM member joins ‘The Plastics’ for the upcoming tour of the beloved cult classic, set to commence in 2026.

Filipina stage performer Kiara Dario has just been announced to join the forthcoming production of Mean Girls: The Musical, taking on the role of one of the musical’s main characters, Gretchen Wieners.
The news was shared on the musical’s official social media platforms, wherein they revealed the full cast of the upcoming UK and Ireland tour production of the beloved stage adaptation. “Just when you thought perfection couldn’t be taught… Meet the #MeanGirlsTour Plastics coming to terrorise a city near you. In a fun way, don’t be weird,” read the caption, showcasing the first look image of the complete trio of Plastics, which also includes Vivian Panka as Regina George and Sophie Pourret as Karen Smith.
Following the official announcement, Dario posted on her account: “Omg the secret’s out! Soooo excited to be a part of the first UK & Ireland Tour of @meangirlsmusical, playing the iconic Gretchen Wieners. See you there losers,” she said playfully.
Aside from the reveal of the trio, the cast announcement also included the reveal of Emily Lane in the lead role of Cady Heron, Georgie Buckland as Janis Sarkisian, Max Gill as Damian Hubbard, Karim Zeroual as Kevin Ganatra, Joshua Elmore as Mr. Duvall, and Faye Tozer taking on the three roles of Ms. Heron, Ms. Norbury, and Mrs. George. Notably absent, though, was the role of Aaron Samuels, despite the character’s importance in the musical as the love interest of Cady and Regina.
The upcoming UK and Ireland tour production of Mean Girls is set to span nearly one year –– and is scheduled to begin its run on February 23, 2026, at Manchester’s Opera House venue, where it will run until March 7, 2026. It will then move around 32 other stops, including places like Cardiff, Leicester, Belfast, Glasgow, Dublin, Bristol, Liverpool, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Wimbledon, Birmingham, and Oxford, before concluding in Newcastle on January 30, 2027.
Prior to joining this production of Mean Girls: The Musical, Dario notably performed as part of the ensemble in The Great Gatsby Musical in London and garnered acclaim for her performance as Gigi in the Asian and Australian run of Miss Saigon, a role which she is currently performing on the West End until December 21 of this year.
