English pop star Harry Styles participated in the 18th edition of the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday, March 2 and completed the 26.2-mile or 42km men’s race in a respectable time.

The “As It Was” singer put his running shoes on and completed the marathon with over 38,000 total competitors, as the 6,010th participant to make it to the finish line. Eagle-eyed fans from the sidelines captured Styles wearing a white bandana, black Nike hoodie and neon sneakers — the Nike Alphafly 3, to be exact.

He completed the race with a net time of 3 hours, 24 minutes, and 7 seconds (3:24:07), with a pace of around 7:47 per mile, according to the Tokyo Marathon’s official website. As he closed in on the finish line, Styles was seen holding hands with his friend Nikolai Haas of The Haas Brothers.

Ethiopian athlete Tadese Takele won the men’s race, clocking in at 2:02:23, while Ethiopian long-distance runner Sutume Asefa Kebede successfully defended her title and won the women’s race in 2:16:31.

Before running became trendy and cool these days, Styles has been putting in the cardio during his downtime when he’s not in the studio making music and selling out stadiums and arenas. “Harries,” the fandom name of the former One Direction member, are eagerly waiting for new music from the singer, who last released his third studio album, Harry’s House, in 2022. He brought his second concert tour, Love on Tour, to the Philippine Arena in Bulacan last March 2023.

The Tokyo Marathon is an annual sporting event in Tokyo, Japan, first held in February 2007. It is a World Athletics Platinum Label marathon and one of the seven World Marathon Majors — the other cities being Boston, London, Sydney, Berlin, Chicago and New York.
