Gloc-9 reintroduces himself as Aristotle Pollisco with the launch of seven poetry chapbooks under the omnibus title — Makata Sa Pinas: Mga Tula ni Aristotle Pollisco, in collaboration with Everything’s Fine PH.

Launching at the Philippine Book Festival in SM Megamall on March 12, the new project shines a new light on how he approaches poetry, with the concept being envisioned as a series of slimmer volumes. Working with the small press, the idea developed into an in-depth reexamination of his discography.

“By revisiting the recurring themes and subject matter that consistently surface throughout his music, seven chapbooks were developed, each shaped around these enduring ideas and reflections,” according to the official press statement.

Each chapbook in the omnibus tackles varying themes and subject matter. The first three chapbooks lean more toward his personal side. Pagkatao talks about his growth as a poet and harks back to his roots in Binagonan, Rizal, that ultimately shaped his career as a renowned rapper. Pangarap features the poems about his dreams of becoming a songwriter and rapper, realizing those dreams, and a reflection on their meaning to him. Pursigi focuses on the hard work that comes with achieving the demands of one’s ambitions and the importance of holding on to one’s values.

The next two chapbooks tap more into his poetry. Pagibig focuses on the different faces of love, from the familial to the romantic and the ones that end on a painful note. Komunidad talks about the stories of people in our local neighborhoods.

Lastly, the final two chapbooks tap into the political nature of his poetry. Lipunan reflects on our collective society that is shaped by who we have become as people and by the hate and compassion we choose to nurture within it. Bayan, on the other hand, features stories about the nation that only a handful of popular songwriters talk about.

Collectively, they aim to invite readers to reflect more deeply on their identity and place within their communities, along with the roles they play in society and the nation. The seven chapbooks are a culmination of the 28 years of the rapper-poet’s career and artistry.

Catch him at the book launch on March 12 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Philippine Book Festival 2026, Megatrade Hall, 5th Level, SM Megamall. Admission is free.
