The force is strong with this one — an additional performance of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back In Concert has been added on August 31 at 7:30 PM, due to popular demand.
The newly added show joins the originally announced performances on August 30 at 6:00 PM and August 31 at 2:00 PM, all taking place at The Theatre at Solaire.
The concert features the Grammy-winning score by legendary composer John Williams, performed live by the Filharmonika Orchestra and led by conductor Gerard Salonga.
Since the birth of the “Skywalker Saga” in 1977 with A New Hope, the franchise has made a lasting impact not only on filmmaking and cinema with its groundbreaking storytelling, characters, and special effects, but also on the world of music. To this day, Williams’ iconic score still remains one of the most recognizable and celebrated in film history.
Originally released 45 years ago in 1980, The Empire Strikes Back is the second installment of the original trilogy and the fifth episode in the nine-part Skywalker Saga.
The film follows the Rebel Alliance’s struggle against the Imperial forces, with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) fleeing to Cloud City, only to be captured by Darth Vader. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) travels to the remote, swamp-covered planet of Dagobah, where the wise Jedi Master Yoda begins training him in the ways of the Force.
Ticket prices are as follows: PHP 1,199 for Stormtrooper, PHP 2,999 for Rebel, PHP 4,499 for Jedi, PHP 5,999 for Sith, and PHP 6,999 for Emperor seats. Tickets for the added show are available via Ticketworld.
