The highly anticipated fifth and final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things is here, with the first volume released on November 27, 2025 (PH Time). We all know that beyond the show’s flair and charm — with its mystery and ’80s nostalgia — its true strength lies in its stellar soundtrack, memorable needle drops, and timeless hits that are certified earworms.

With a new season comes a new set of songs that perfectly capture the adventures (and misadventures) of our favorite characters from Hawkins and the Upside Down. Billboard Philippines has compiled a list of tracks featured in the first four episodes of the season, including songs from icons such as Michael Jackson and ABBA, as well as the return of a fan-favorite track that has become an integral part of the show’s musical identity.

Check out the songs featured on the first four episodes below.

“Chapter One: The Crawl”

“Rockin’ Robin” by Michael Jackson

One of the King of Pop’s early songs from his youth, “Rockin’ Robin,” is a Bobby Day cover that served as the second single from Michael Jackson’s debut solo album, Got to Be There.

“Pretty in Pink” by Psychedelic Furs

Released in 1981 as part of the band’s second album, Talk Talk, the song was re-recorded for the soundtrack of the hit 1986 teen romantic comedy Pretty in Pink. Since then, it has become synonymous with the film and its cultural impact in the 1980s, which featured major stars such as Molly Ringwald, James Spader, and Andrew McCarthy.

“Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” by Kate Bush

A returning song from Season 4, this Kate Bush track became widely associated with the show. It first appeared during the encounter between Max (Sadie Sink) and Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), in a standout sequence that resonated deeply with fans.

“Upside Down” by Diana Ross

With a track titled “Upside Down” isn’t a coincidence. This track from Diana Ross was the lead single of her eleventh studio album, Diana. While the track is all about the feeling of having a crush and how it can turn one’s world “upside down,” we all know that it’s not a good place in the series.

“Chapter Two: The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler”

“Fernando” by ABBA

“Fernando” is one of the most celebrated tracks of the legendary Swedish pop group. The English version of the track is one of their best-selling hits of all time, with over six million copies sold in 1976 alone.

“Mr. Sandman” by The Chordettes

“Mr. Sandman” is a song that has been heavily used across films and television. With its popularity since its release in the 1950s, the track has been used in films such as Halloween II, Deadpool, and Uncle Buck.

“Chapter Three: The Turnbow Trap”

“To Each His Own” by Freddy Martin & His Orchestra

As the title song of the 1946 film of the same name, this orchestral piece has had three different versions and recordings, with all of them hitting the coveted No. 1 spot on the Billboard US charts.

“Oh Yeah” by Yello

“Oh Yeah” is described as very infectious to its listeners, even popularized by the 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. It is also used in other film soundtracks in the 1980s and gained a reputation as a cliche in 1980s Hollywood.

“I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tiffany

One of the popular songs of the 1980s, Tiffany’s cover of Tommy James and the Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now” has been a staple for film and television soundtracks.

“Chapter Four: Sorcerer”

“Premature Plans” by Elmer Bernstein

Composed by Elmer Bernstein, this musical piece appears on the original soundtrack of the 1963 film The Great Escape and invites a moment of reflection.

“Sh-Boom” by The Chords

A doo-wop song by the R&B vocal group the Chords, this track is known to have been played during the scene in Cars where Lightning McQueen and Radiator Springs’ citizens are driving around town.
