Celine Dion, the “Queen of Power Ballads” and one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, has now joined the world of TikTok.

On January 6, 2026 (PH Time), the “My Heart Will Go On” singer rang in the new year and posted a playful video about finally being handed the keys to her TikTok account. “They told me, ‘Celine, it’s time…’ I asked, ‘Time for what? Turns out…something completely new,” she says in the caption on her post on Instagram.

Although her team had been managing her account and posting throwback photos and iconic performances since 2020, it took nearly six years for her to finally take control and see what the fuss was all about. “So here I am, learning how this TikTok world works…one video at a time! Thank you for being here. I’m glad we’re here together,” she adds.

In 2022, the music icon was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder that causes severe muscle stiffness and spasms. The condition, which she publicly disclosed in December that year, forced her to cancel the remaining dates of her ‘Courage World Tour’ and has significantly affected both her mobility and her vocal cords.

Despite these challenges, she has continued to make selective public and creative appearances. In 2023, she made her feature film debut as herself in the romantic comedy Love Again, starring Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan, and recorded five songs for its soundtrack.

In 2024, Dion partnered with Amazon MGM Studios to release the documentary I Am: Celine Dion, which chronicled her life and ongoing battle with SPS. That same year, she performed “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower to close the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics, marking her first public performance in four years.
