Beyoncé returns to the Met Gala as a co-chair for the 2026 event, which will celebrate the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute exhibition, “Costume Art,” on May 4, 2026.
The multi-time Grammy Award-winning artist is joined by fellow co-chairs from across the diverse worlds of entertainment, sport, and fashion — Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and tennis superstar Venus Williams.
Meanwhile, the Met Gala Host Committee is co-led by designer Anthony Vaccarello and filmmaker Zoë Kravitz. The 2026 committee consists of LISA of BLACKPINK, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Sam Smith, and Teyana Taylor, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, Chloe Malle, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson, and Yseult.
The upcoming spring exhibition is Queen Bey’s first Met Gala in a decade. In 2016, she made an appearance at the “Manus x Machina” gala, dressed in Givenchy Haute Couture. She made her Met Gala debut in 2008, with that year’s theme exploring superheroes’ influence on high fashion and others. She was also named honorary chair in the 2013 punk-themed edition.
Beyoncé embarked on her fifth all-stadium Cowboy Carter Tour between April and July 2025 across the United States and Europe. It became the highest-grossing tour of 2025 and the highest-grossing country tour in history.
First held in 1948, the Met Gala is the annual haute couture fundraising event organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, and is typically held on the first Monday of May. Over the years, it has been regarded as the world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion event.
