Marvel Studios unveils the official trailer for the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, featuring the iconic theme composed by Alan Silvestri.
The star-studded two-and-a-half-minute trailer assembles groups of heroes across different universes — the Avengers, New Avengers, Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men — in hopes of saving the multiverse from collapsing.
On the other side of the battle lines, the trailer also offers a glimpse of the second coming of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), now donning a new mask as the titular villain, Doctor Doom.
Following the tragic death of Iron Man and the retirement of Steve Rogers, as seen in Avengers: Endgame, Thor now takes center stage, leading familiar faces introduced in the Infinity Saga and new heroes introduced in the Multiverse Saga.
The trailer ends with a big moment of Thor meeting a younger Steve Rogers with longer hair and a thick beard, similar to his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War — who is deemed worthy when the God of Thunder’s Mjolnir calls to him.
Of course, the heavy-hitting character reveals and teases are soundtracked to the iconic theme composed by Silvestri from the original 2012 Avengers film.
