After nearly two years, Rockstar Games has finally given us a new glimpse of Grand Theft Auto VI.

The newly released trailer confirms the recent news of the game’s official release date (which is scheduled for May 26, 2026) and highlights the main storyline of the upcoming video game alongside its dual protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Aside from introducing the game’s colorful cast of characters, it also spotlights several fictional sceneries and locations — whether it be the already-infamous Vice City, or the newly unveiled Leonoda Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga — which all mirror the real-life state of Florida in the United States of America.

Read through the official premise of the highly anticipated video game below:

“Set in Vice City, Jason & Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive”

Grand Theft Auto VI marks the latest entry in the iconic Grand Theft Auto video game franchise, following the release of Grand Theft Auto V (and its online in-game content, Grand Theft Auto Online), which was released all the way back in 2013. In the twelve years that have passed since then, the game has continued to uphold its reputation as one of the greatest video games ever released — recognized as the second-best-selling video game of all time with 210 million copies shipped, and one of the most financially successful entertainment products of all time, with over $8.5 billion in worldwide revenue.

Music itself plays a significant role within every entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, with various radio stations and talk shows featuring licensed and original music coming from renowned artists all over the world. By compiling music of all genres, both old and new, the popular video game franchise has introduced millions of players to varying sounds — with their licensed music building up a roster of artists like Frank Ocean, Tyler, The Creator, Lorde, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Thundercat, Saweetie, Freddie Gibbs, Caroline Polachek, and several others.

Though further details have been revealed regarding gameplay, graphics, and the game’s plot, fans worldwide are anticipating what music will be featured in the sixth installment of Grand Theft Auto. Make sure to stay tuned here for more updates on the game and its music.
