James Reid and Kathryn Bernardo team up for “Aaminin,” which is part of the official soundtrack of the romantic thriller series, Someday, Someday.
The romantic pop ballad serves as the new official theme song of the hit teleserye produced by Dreamscape Entertainment and is inspired by the relatable feeling of falling for a close friend, and the uncertainty that comes with the relationship potentially changing forever.
“Nung una pa lang, pansin ko naman na ’di pang-magkaibigan lang,” Reid sings on the track that immediately yearns of craving for the friendship to be something more.
Reid wanted to create an original song that was inspired by the series, focusing on his character Jordan’s perspective and his feelings for Bernardo’s character Billy.
“I thought writing a song from Jordan’s perspective could be interesting,” Reid shares in a press statement. “I teamed up with Jason Marvin to make this song, and we had finished it in hopes that we could get Kathryn to sing on the track, and I’m very grateful that she did.”
“The process didn’t require much thought because we have been close to these characters for almost a year. It’s a simple yet beautiful song, and our vocals blended really well,” he adds.
Working with Marvin, Reid made sure to let honesty be the guiding force with his songwriting. The collaboration felt smooth with him tapping into his personal emotions and drawing from the series’ script and character breakdowns.
