GAT And RAYA Put A Fresh Spin On “Bongga Ka Day” In New Single – Listen
The two P-pop groups team up to reimagine the iconic Hotdog classic for Bongga Ka Day The Album.

P-pop acts GAT and RAYA have joined forces to breathe new life into the OPM classic, “Bongga Ka Day.”
Released on August 7, 2026 under Viva Records, the reimagined track arrives as part of Bongga Ka Day The Album. The project brings together a star-studded lineup of Filipino artists paying tribute to the iconic ’70s OPM band Hotdog. Also featured are The Juans, Adie, Earl Agustin, Alamat, Rob Deniel, and more, each offering their own interpretation of the band’s timeless hits.
In addition to “Bongga Ka Day,” the album revisits beloved songs such as “Annie Batungbakal,” “Pers Lab,” “Manila,” “Beh Buti Nga,” and “Ikaw Ang Miss Universe Ng Buhay Ko.”
The album serves as a companion release to Bongga Ka, ‘Day: The Annie Batungbakal Musical, which opens on September 18, 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Produced by Newport World Resorts, the musical celebrates the songs of Hotdog, the legendary band that pioneered the Manila Sound movement and helped shaped the sound of Original Pilipino Music.
Ahead of the musical’s premiere, Hotdog’s original members and vocalists Maso Diez-Rivera, Gina Montes-Infante, and Rita Saguin-Trinidad will headline the Hotdog: Tribute Concert on August 8, 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. They will be joined by the performers from the Bongga Ka Day The Album and the members of the musical’s cast for a one-night celebration of the band’s lasting legacy. Tickets are available through TicketWorld outlets and the Newport World Resorts Box Office.
Both under Viva Records, RAYA recently released the uplifting single “Ligaya” in July, while GAT returned in April with the romantic anthem “Kapag Ngumingiti Ka.” Now, the two P-pop acts come together to reintroduce “Bongga Ka Day” through a vibrant take that pays homage to one of OPM’s most enduring classics.
