“Mahal kita. Seven years na.” (I have loved you for seven years now). Maki and SB19’s justin are set to break our hearts with a script reading of the hit 2017 independent romantic-drama film I’m Drunk, I Love You.
As part of Kamuning Film Club’s June 2026 lineup of events, the script reading — which still has an unknown date as of this writing — brings together two OPM artists to bring the film to life.
Kamuning Film Club is organized by Basta Cafe in Quezon City, owned by Filipino filmmakers Antoinette Jadaone and JP Habac. It features various community events, including roundtable discussions, film screenings, and filmmaking workshops.
Maki reads for Dio, played by Paulo Avelino, while Justin reads for Carson, played by Maja Salvador. Joining them are Benedix Ramos as Pathy, played by Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Yani Villarosa (yanihatesu) as Jason Ty, played by Dominic Roco.
The film follows two college best friends, Dio and Carson, on their final road trip before graduation, as they prepare to step into freedom while confronting their true feelings for each other. The film developed a following thanks to its relatability, portraying unrequited love, the yearning for a best friend you’ve fallen in love with, and a memorable setting such as La Union.
Registration to catch the script reading and other June events is now closed.
This news comes after fans shipped the “Dilaw” hitmaker with the P-pop idol after the latter appeared in the music video for “habangbuhay pansamantala.”
Also known as the “pink song,” the art-heavy music video features a brief moment between Maki and Justin as they cross paths in the narrative set in an end-of-the-world type of scenario.
