K-pop girl group aespa have unveiled their newest single and music video, “WDA (Whole Different Animal),” in collaboration with G-DRAGON, as part of their LP LEMONADE.
Serving as a pre-release single, “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” arrived on May 11 as the first track previewed from the four-member group’s forthcoming full-length album. Featuring the BIGBANG member, the collaboration was initially teased on social media with a visually-entrancing clip, displaying the rotating silhouette of the surprise feature artist.
Accompanying the hip-hop dance track, its music video, released on aespa’s official YouTube channel, is a fast-moving, avant garde visualizer showing KARINA, WINTER, GISELLE, and NINGNING within an urban and industrial setting. Switching between a green screen background and a neon green, laser-filled room, the “Supernova” hitmakers perform the sharp choreography of “WDA (Whole Different Animal),” donning a grey, street ensemble.
Joining near the end of the song, G-DRAGON bursts in with a bass-heavy, guttural verse, referencing the group’s previous hit “Whiplash” in his lyrics. While not making an appearance in the visualizer, the King of K-pop amplifies his presence with his signature rhythmic, confident flow and a repeating hook (“She a whole different animal, different animal“) throughout the song.
The first of eleven new tracks, “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” follows aespa’s 2025 EP Rich Man and serves as their first-ever group collaboration with G-DRAGON. Arriving on May 29, their first full-length project in two years, LEMONADE, is available for pre-save on major streaming platforms.
