Gracie Abrams is ushering in a new era with the announcement of her new single, “Hit the Wall,” set to drop on May 15, 2026 (PH Time).
“Hit the Wall” marks the Grammy Award-nominated artist’s first solo music release since her sophomore album, The Secret of Us. Released in June 2024, it featured the singles “Risk,” “Close to You,” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry.” A deluxe version of the record was released in November of the same year and featured “That’s So True.”
In 2025, Abrams collaborated with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco on “Call Me When You Break Up,” the lead single of Gomez and Blanco’s collaborative studio album, I Said I Love You First.
The release signals fans’ anticipation for Abrams’ third studio album and follow-up to The Secret of Us. “Hit the Wall” was first teased in April, when Abrams posted a video of herself playing a snippet of the track while working in the studio.
“I’m a crack in the pavement, I’m a slipknot / I’m afraid that my fortress is a glass box / I should know what I’m playing, but I forgot. I felt good for a day, but that stopped / And I once saw it clearly, but now it’s bloodshot / And I want you so badly, but I close off / And I thought we’d get married, but I guess not / Now you can watch me hit the wall.”
The as-yet untitled third record is due for release this year. In January, it was announced that Abrams would be making her acting debut in the A24-produced film, Please. The project is helmed by Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn (Bodies Bodies Bodies, Babygirl).
