Filipino indie artist Space-Ta, is set to give music fans a taste of his second album, DebussY, this April.

On his profile, the reclusive musician describes himself as “a time traveller-philanthropist-musician from 2032.” He comes from a time where a so-called “TIME COUNCIL” has “reformatted life as we know it,” banning all sorts of art and culture from the past — including music. As such, he has made it his personal mission to “move back and forth in time to re-establish and reconnect erased music that were [sic] banned by (the TIME COUNCIL).”

One way that Space-Ta accomplishes his mission “to bring back what was lost” is by collaborating with musicians from the “past” (well, his fictional self’s past). DebussY contains ten tracks all written by Space-Ta himself, and sees the artist work with the likes of EraserheadsRaymund Marasigan (also of Sandwich, Pedicab, and more) and Buddy Zabala; Eco Del Rio (also of Chicosci, bird.), Badjao De Castro (IV OF SPADES), and John Apura of Party Pace; Francis De Veyra, Kakoy Legaspi, and Nikki Cabardo of Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas, Jay Gapasin of Tarsius, and many more. Having been given early access to the record, Billboard Philippines describes the overall sound of DebussY as a mix of Beatles-esque guitar pop and ’90s alternative, with washes of psychedelia provided by keys, synths, and other instruments — almost a sonic 180-degree turn from the electro-funk of Space-Ta’s 2023 debut album, Flight of the white rekusasu.

While the actual release date of DebussY has not been disclosed, Space-Ta will hold a free listening party for the album on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City, starting at 8PM. This will give listeners and followers of the Filipino indie scene a chance to hear the album in full, and perhaps get a glimpse of the star-studded lineup of collaborators on the record, as well as the mysterious Space-Ta himself.

In anticipation of hearing DebussY in full, listen to one of the album’s teaser singles, “5012” (featuring Eco Del Rio and John Apura), below:
