SB19 have finally released their long-awaited sophomore album, titled Wakas At Simula.
The newly released record showcases a brand new side of the Kings of P-pop, ushering in a new era of their ever-evolving artistry with its socially relevant lyricism and genre-defying collection of sounds. Compiling their previous three EPs (PAGTATAG!, Simula At Wakas, and a rerecorded version of PAGSIBOL) with new material, the resulting collection of twenty-four tracks sees them at their most mature to date — ready and poised for global stardom.
Wakas At Simula also features collaborations with renowned Asian acts, such as the Queen of C-Pop JOLIN on the track “Emoji” and Japanese group BE:FIRST on the dance-pop track “Toyfriend” — once again showcasing the group’s willingness to expand their global footprint. Additionally, other new tracks on the record include the sentimental R&B track “Memories” as well as “Everblack,” which features a new side of the boy group as they delve into more experimental and industrial textures.
The group is scheduled to release a music video for the track “Emoji” featuring JOLIN. Check out the official MV teaser below:
“Wakas at Simula closes the chapter of proving ourselves,” mentioned SB19 in an official press statement. “In the beginning, we were focused on finding our place, building our identity, and earning people’s trust. This album honors that journey while also guiding us into a more grounded and intentional version of SB19.”
“Our years of experience have given us the confidence to create and share what feels true to us, even if we are still growing. At the same time, this marks a new beginning. We hope to express ourselves more openly, explore deeper and more relatable themes, and move forward with clarity, care, and creative freedom, ready to face new challenges together,” they continued.
Talking about their international collaborations on the album, STELL opened up about how such experiences allowed them to learn more about how the global music scene operates. “Since SB19 built its own system from the ground up, one that is pro-artist and pro-team, these collaborations helped us see how we can refine and evolve that approach. The impact goes beyond music, as it opens opportunities for 1Z to grow and adapt to global practices,” he states. “At the end of the day, it highlights how a young team can build meaningful connections and continue learning while expanding on a global stage.”
The group also opened up about re-recording their PAGSIBOL EP, and talked about how they re-approached the material with a new perspective, following all that has happened over the last five years. “When we first recorded them, we were coming from a place of hunger and hope, performing based on how we initially understood and absorbed the lyrics,” SB19 admits. “Now, with more experience and perspective, the emotions naturally run deeper, and the lyrics carry greater meaning. It was not about changing the songs completely but allowing them to grow with us.”
SB19 is set to celebrate the release of the album with a massive concert of the same name, scheduled to take place this April 18, 2026 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City. They most recently performed at Japan’s D.U.N.K. Showcase in Nagoya alongside fellow OPM acts like Cup of Joe and BGYO, where SB19 debuted their collaboration with BE:FIRST via a surprise live performance of “Toyfriend.”
Additionally, the group is scheduled to perform at the upcoming Lollapalooza 2026 festival in Chicago this July, as well as Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo this August — marking another step forward for Filipino talent on the global stage.
