Bleachers are kicking off a new era with the announcement of a brand new single, titled “You and Forever.”
The news was shared across the beloved indie band’s social media pages, which they cleared out aside from a series of three ten-second teasers that showcase various clips from the track’s forthcoming music video. So far, the clips have showcased the band’s frontman, Jack Antonoff, standing amidst a heavy rain downpour, while the others have shed light on Antonoff’s real-life wife, actress Margaret Qualley, as she dances in front of a window, drinks a cup of coffee, and plays around with a dog.
All posts have announced the track’s scheduled release date for February 11, 2026, with the latest post describing the upcoming single as the precursor set “three days until B5 begins” — teasing the release of the band’s highly anticipated fifth studio album. In their first post commemorating the new era, they posted a cryptic caption that reads, “Days that feel like the space between one town and the next. What will emerge for all of us is a mystery. What has emerged for bleachers is coming.”
“You and Forever” is set to mark Bleachers’ first musical release since their single, “Merry Christmas, Please Don’t Call,” which came out back in November 2024. In the same years, the group also released their fourth and eponymous studio album, Bleachers, earlier that year, featuring the singles “Modern Girl,” “Me Before You,” and “Tiny Moves.”
Speaking to Billboard Philippines over Zoom about the record, Antonoff opened up about his unique creative process and the origins of their last album. “In my past three albums, I felt very obsessed with the past and the future. I was deeply imagining things from before and things that could happen. But somewhere along the way, I just started only thinking about right now. I don’t know why. So this album feels like you’re sitting in a room with me right now,” he candidly shared.
Most recently, Antonoff attended the 2026 Grammy Awards with Qualley, wherein he took home the trophy for Record of the Year for his contributions to Kendrick Lamar and SZA‘s chart-topping hit sensation, “luther.” The award solidified the acclaimed producer and songwriter’s status as one of only four individuals in Grammys history to win all of the award show’s four major categories — Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.
