DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures have just released the first teaser trailer for their next blockbuster film, Supergirl.
The newly released trailer not only highlights Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) in the titular role of the film, but also heavily utilizes American new wave group Blondie’s classic hit track, “Call Me”, from 1980. In the trailer, we see the song soundtrack a compilation of scenes that see Alcock’s Supergirl in a variety of scenarios –– ranging from waiting on an intergalactic bus stop, celebrating her 23rd birthday with her dog Krypto, protecting a young girl, and fighting against an alien militia.

Supergirl features a premise inspired by the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic run, and features Alcock’s character on a vengeful, intergalactic journey after being pulled into the quest of a young girl, Ruthye Marye Knoll, to find her attacker, leading Kara to confront her past and forge her own path as a hero. Produced by DC Studios’ James Gunn and Peter Safran, the film is scheduled to be released on June 24, 2026 in Philippine cinemas.
Blondie’s “Call Me” was first released as the theme song for the neo-noir crime film, American Gigolo, directed by Paul Schrader and starring Richard Gere. Produced by famed Italian music producer Giorgio Moroder, the track features lyrics penned by Blondie’s very own frontwoman, Debbie Harry, and received critical and commercial acclaim upon its release –– topping the Billboard Hot 100 as well as Billboard’s year-end charts for 1980.
