Legendary English rock band The Cure has announced the release of their new concert film, The Show of a Lost World, which will screen in select cinemas worldwide beginning this December.

The concert film captures the band’s November 1, 2024, show at Troxy in London, where they performed their 14th studio album, Songs of a Lost Worldin its entirety for the first and only time thus far.

The concert featured a 31-song setlist, which included their hits throughout their career, such as “Boys Don’t Cry,” “Friday I’m in Love,” “Just Like Heaven,” and “Pictures of You.” They also paid tribute to their 1980 album, Seventeen Seconds, which marked its 45th anniversary this year, by performing five songs.

Directed by longtime collaborator Nick Wickham, the film has been recut, remixed, and remastered in 4K and features new surround sound mixed by The Cure frontman Robert Smith.

According to the band’s official website, the film will be available in cinemas for a limited time beginning December 11. As of this writing, no official release date in the Philippines has been announced. However, given the recent release of Depeche Mode’s M concert film in October, Filipino fans of ’80s music can expect a similar limited screening locally.

Following the concert film’s theatrical run, it will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download later in December.

Songs of a Lost World marks the band’s first studio release in sixteen years, following 2008’s 4:13 Dream. For the first time since their 1985 album The Head on the Door, all songs were composed solely by Smith. It also marks their first studio album to feature guitarist Reeves Gabrels, who joined the band 2012. Gabrels is known for his work with David Bowie and his band Tin Machine.
