Underdog Music has welcomed yet another indie musician to their roster of talent, with Jose Miguel now joining the independent label.

As his first release under the famed independent label, the jazz crooner released his brand new single, titled “Dalawa” — marking his first single recorded in Filipino. Taking to his official social media platforms to talk about the track, he captioned his post, stating, “What a journey!! It’s been five years of holding on, letting go, and finding my way back to the heart of it all. This song carries pieces of who I was, who I became, and who I’m still becoming. To those who believed, and even those who doubted, thank you.

He continued, “Every version of this song mirrored a version of me… raw, unsure, but always reaching for something real. It’s changed so many times just like I have. And now, finally, here we are.”

“Dalawa” marks Jose Miguel’s first musical release since dropping his debut studio album, 5 Star Overthinker, which was released last February 2024, and spawned the singles “Free,” “Yesterday With You,” and its title track. He made his debut under KARPOS‘ music label back in 2023, releasing his debut single “Is This Love?” and “Light My Fire.”

Earlier this year, Billboard Philippines sat down for an exclusive interview with Jose Miguel, wherein he talked about representing the Philippines at Java Jazz Festival 2025 as the first-ever Filipino to perform at the renowned musical festival. “I really am so thankful that they had a spot for a Filipino talent and all Filipino talent — all of us, not just me,” he said, before continuing: “I hope that more Filipino talent gets to play these stages as well. This is just the beginning for Filipino music. I believe it’s so hot right now, and literally in the scene, there’s so much great talent. I’m just glad that I’m in this position and I have this privilege to perform carrying our flag.”
