Today (October 22, 2025), award-winning Filipino singer-songwriter Davey Langit has passed away at the age of 38. According to a post he wrote in August, he was suffering from a diagnosis of spondylodiscitis, a spine infection.
Sharing a heartfelt message on social media, the singer-songwriter’s wife, Therese Villarante-Langit, wrote, “Yesterday, my husband, our best friend, brother, son, bandmate, collaborator, favorite guitar player, master storyteller, and the kindest, brightest, most beautiful person — fought fiercely ‘til the very end. He felt so loved by you all these past few days. Thank you for filling his heart with so much gratitude, community, and hope.”
In memory of Davey Langit, his family will be holding a memorial at the Phoenix Memorial Chapels & Crematory Inc., Brgy. National Highway, City of Santa Rosa, 4026 Laguna, this October 23-26.
Davey Langit is a singer-songwriter who made his debut on Pinoy Dream Academy‘s first season in 2006. Since then, the artist has helped shape the modern OPM scene with popular tracks like “Wedding Song,” “Selfie Song,” and many more. In 2016, his song “Dalawang Letra,” interpreted by the Itchyworms, won Grand Prize on the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs Songwriting competition.
