BLACKPINK‘s LISA made a surprise appearance at the opening ceremony of the 30th Busan International Film Festival, which will run from September 17 to 26, 2025, at the Busan Cinema Center, Centum City, and Nampo-dong.
The Thai rapper-singer surprised fans as she showed up at the red carpet unannounced, a day after she made an appearance at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. She also became the first K-pop artist in history to attend the Emmys. At the red carpet, LISA wore a Maison Margiela Haute Couture gown from the Artisinal 2025 collection designed by Glenn Martens, a fantasy-inspired ensemble paired with Bulgari diamond earrings.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Lee Byung-hun and also presented Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice, the festival’s opening film, which he leads, joined by his fellow cast members Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yeom Hye-ra. Among the big names who graced the ceremony were Guillermo del Toro, Maggie Kang, co-director of KPop Demon Hunters, Milla Jovovich, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Ken Watanabe, and Michael Mann.
This year’s official selection showcases 241 films across 64 countries — 90 films will make their world premiere, while nine films will have their international premiere.
LISA and the rest of BLACKPINK are set to captivate their Filipino Blinks for their ‘Deadline World Tour’ at the Philippine Arena on November 22 and 23, 2025. They first visited the country in 2019 for their ‘Blackpink World Tour [In Your Area]’ at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
