The first trailer for the upcoming Timothée Chalamet-led sports drama, Marty Supreme, has arrived, and we’re ready to feel “Forever Young,” along with Tyler, the Creator.
The trailer, set to Alphaville’s “Forever Young,” gives us a first glimpse of the Oscar-nominated actor as Marty Mauser, a promising young table tennis player in the pursuit of greatness while going through hell and back. This mimics his Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards speech for his win as Best Actor for his role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown,
On Instagram, Tyler shared the teaser with the vcaption, “Started shooting for this the week CHROMAKOPIA came out. What a time.” The “Sugar On My Tongue” singer is billed under his real name Tyler Okonma in the film.
The film also features Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, and Fran Drescher rounding out the cast.
The film is directed by Josh Safdie, who co-wrote and co-directed the films Good Time and Uncut Gems with his brother, director-actor Benny Safdie. Since 2024, the brothers pursued their solo careers. Benny will also have his first solo directorial feature with The Smashing Machine starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Okonma appeared as himself in Jackass Forever and its never-before-seen footage and outtakes Jackass 4.5, and voiced Mr. Thoroughgood, Pharrell’s teacher in Piece by Piece. He is set to hold CHROMAKOPIA: THE WORLD TOUR for two sold-out shows at the Araneta Coliseum on September 20 and 21.
Marty Supreme arrives in U.S. cinemas on December 25. As of this writing, no Philippine release date has been set.
