On May 20, 2025, it was announced through Tarsier Records’ official social media accounts that “Dilaw” hitmaker Maki would release his latest single entitled “Kahel Na Langit.” On June 13, 2025, the song has officially come out as the latest addition to Maki’s growing repertoire of emotionally-charged Filipino pop tracks.
Speaking of yearning and the longing for a love lost, this anthem is the perfect song to blast as the sun sets and the sky is awash with orange hues. Produced and written by Maki himself — alongside collaborators Tati de Mesa, Jacob Clemente, and Shadiel Chan — the emotional lyrics are supported by lush, full production.
This marks the singer-songwriter’s latest release following his “Warmer Version” of “Dilaw” as the theme song for the recently premiered film, My Love Will Make You Disappear. The fresh track is anticipated to be part of a larger project — Maki’s solo debut album entitled Kolorcoaster, which he announced during his music video premiere for “Bughaw.”
In recent news, as well, the artist has been performing shows around the Philippines for his Maki-Concert tour — the most recent being held in the University of Baguio last May 10. In this leg of his ongoing tour, the artist joined forces with fresh ABS-CBN talents Fyang Smith and Kai Montinola as special guests.
