Since their debut in 2022, XG have always aimed to take their ever-evolving music and bold artistry towards global recognition. And now, three years later, they have done exactly that, and so much more.
From their hit releases going viral across the world to major collaborations and numerous sold-out concerts, the Japanese girl group — composed of JURIN, CHISA, HINATA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA, and COCONA — is realizing that very goal, one major milestone at a time. Together, they have pushed artistic boundaries and defied expectations, constantly reinventing and refining the very identity of XG as a whole.

“It’s been three years since we started our journey as XG, and those three years have felt both incredibly deep and intense and long yet so fast at the same time,” shares CHISA to Billboard Philippines, highlighting how much they’ve grown together thanks to their experiences — not just as artists, but as individuals as well. “We’re truly happy and proud to have been able to pursue the music and performances we want to share with people all around the world as XG.”

Amongst these achievements under their belt, the “SHOOTING STAR” hitmakers have also been able to fullfill one of their “biggest dreams” ever: their very own world tour. Held from May 2024 to May 2025, ‘The First HOWL’ tour became a testament to the power XG holds, as they successfully journeyed to nearly 20 countries and and held around 50 shows in total — a feat that is, undeniably, easier said than done.
“Accomplishing such a successful tour wasn’t easy by any means but getting to travel around the world and meet so many of our fans [ALPHAZ] in person made it all so meaningful,” shares HINATA, noting how they “truly felt how far [their] music has reached around the world,” which, in turn, has become “both emotional and incredibly rewarding” for them. “It’s been unbelievable to visit so many places during this world tour, and it made us feel that all the hard work was worth it. We’re filled with gratitude for everyone who supported us along the way, and most of all, for our beloved ALPHAZ.”

Hand-in-hand with taking this incredible, 12-month journey across the globe, XG have also conquered some of the biggest stages of their career so far. One of these, of course, is Coachella Festival, with XG serving as the only Japanese act to have their very own solo set at its 2025 iteration.

“Being able to perform at Coachella was truly the moment a long-held dream came true for us as XG,” shares JURIN when asked if they felt any pressure representing Japanese music on such a major stage. She emphasizes that, rather than pressure, they felt excitement and had the determination “to seize this long-awaited opportunity” with their own hands. “Coachella is filled with so many incredible artists, so there was a healthy sense of nervousness about sharing the stage with them. But that very pressure and nervous energy constantly fueled our motivation and pushed us to do our best.”

“We never imagined we’d be able to stand on a stage we’ve all dreamed of since our trainee days this soon,” reveals HARVEY when asked how they felt performing at the prestigious music festival. Describing the experience, she admits that, while they did collectively felt a sense of nervousness and uncertainty before their performance, it was nothing compared to the joy that came with the seven of them achieving this dream together. “Once we actually got on stage and started performing, all the nerves and worries completely disappeared and we were able to enjoy the moment with everything we had.”

“A lot of things were going through our heads that day, but I think we were all telling ourselves to just have fun,” adds MAYA, sharing how they learned a lot from performing at the festival, especially when it came to adapting their performances to the Coachella weather. “At the end of the day that night only comes once, so we really wanted to embrace the moment.”

“Even though our preparation time was short, it felt so long because we gained so many lessons, so many valuable experiences. It was truly a meaningful time,” shares COCONA when asked about how they prepared for their intensive 13-song set. Even if it may have been challenging, COCONA credits her co-members and the team behind them for being able to pull it off. “Of course, we’re also deeply supported by so many incredible people on our team every day, and I’m constantly inspired by the kindness, mindset, and words of the members who are always by my side,” she states, emphasizing how their example has been a positive influence on her. “With the seven of us, I feel like we can do anything. We can achieve anything.”

And true enough, if there’s one thing that their first world tour has proven, it’s that nothing is impossible for them.
Today, May 14, 2024, after a highly successful year of tirelessly touring the entire world, XG are drawing it all to a close with a spectacular finale at none other than the famous Tokyo Dome. Marking this special occasion, the global girl group is coming out with an equally special release: “MILLION PLACES.” “[It] captures the precious moments and memories we experienced during our WORLD TOUR connecting with ALPHAZ all around the world, crossing borders, and embracing different cultures through music,” comments CHISA on their latest single, noting how releasing it on the final day of their first world tour “makes it all the more emotional and meaningful.” “To us, this song represents a year of growth and is a heartfelt expression of all the gratitude we feel.”

“Throughout the tour, we learned so much, not just about performing music, but especially about the importance of preparation,” shares CHISA, describing their first global trek as “a truly valuable experience” that they aim to bring with them into their future endeavors. “We hope you’ll continue to look forward to XG’s upcoming shows and everything we have in store!”
As the seven of them look towards their future together, JURIA notes that they have a lot more they want to achieve as one, signaling that this is, undoubtedly, only the beginning. “There are so many goals, but above all, I’ve always just wanted to keep enjoying music with these seven members, and that will never change.”

For now, as they put a close on this momentous chapter in their journey, JURIN promises that, while they can’t specifically reveal anything yet, they are already set to prepare for what’s to come next. “We’ll evolve even further and show everyone a more grown version of XG next year.”
