The long-awaited film adaptation of Wicked has just been released worldwide.

With the film’s release finally here, the official soundtrack of the Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo-led project has just been dropped –– showcasing a total of 12 tracks to be reimagined for the highly-anticipated project. From the iconic “Defying Gravity” to the energetic “Popular,” the movie captures all the songs from the first act of the beloved Broadway musical. Featuring an all-star lineup of performers, Wicked stars Ariana Grande as Galinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, with Jeff Goldblum stepping into the role of the Wizard of Oz. The cast also includes Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Marissa Bode as NessaRose, Bronwyn James as ShenShen, Ethan Slater as Boq, and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero. Notably, Peter Dinklage lends his voice to Dr. Dillamond, the goat professor.

Wicked was released in Philippine cinemas earlier this week on November 20, 2024 (Wednesday), and was received with critical and commercial acclaim worldwide. In Billboard Philippines’ review of the highly-anticipated adaptation, the film was described as “an absolute delight that’s sure to become a favorite among audiences as the year ends,” with credit to its outstanding lead performances from Erivo and Grande who serve as the heart and soul of the film.
